In 2007 they had another major-label release, Strength & Loyalty, on Swizz Beatz's label Full Surface Records. After that album, the group went on hiatus from their label and released their sixth studio album, Thug Stories, independently in 2006. In 2000, BTNHResurrection reached platinum in one month, while 2002's Thug World Order received more moderate sales and promotion, going gold and peaking at #3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. 1 & 2 was both released in 19 respectively both reaching Platinum status in the U.S. The editors of ranked them #12 on their list of the "25 Best Rap Groups of All Time", and MTV called them "the most melodic hip-hop group of all time". Bone Thugs is the only group that has worked with all four deceased artists 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G., Eazy-Eand Big Pun while they were still alive. The album was another runaway success selling 394,000 copies in its first week and overall selling 4.6 million copies in the U.S. The Art of War, the group's third album, was also released in July 1997. This was the groups best selling album to date selling over 4 million copies in just 4 months after release and by July of 2009 the album had sold over 9 million copies in the United States and has reportedly sold 19 million copies worldwide. A tribute to then-recently deceased Eazy-E, titled "Tha Crossroads" in early January 1996 which won a Grammy award in 1997. The album debut and peaked at #1 selling 313,000 copies in the first week. 1999 Eternal, which included hits "1st of tha Month" and "East 1999". In 1995, the group released its second album, E. The EP included their breakout hit single "Thuggish Ruggish Bone" & the Eazy E assisted single For Tha Love Of $ released in August 1994, the album was a massive success selling over 4 million units in the United States and over 9 million records worldwide. American West Coast rapper Eazy-E, former member of rap group N.W.A, signed Bone Thugs-N-Harmony to Ruthless Records in late 1993, when Bone Thugs debuted with their EP Creepin on ah Come Up. It consists of rappers Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone, Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone and Flesh-N-Bone. It's as good as it can be, and better than expected.Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is an American hip hop group from Cleveland, Ohio. Strength & Loyalty doesn't overcome its challenges it just sidesteps them and works hard to reward fans for a decade of patience. Problem is, this album could have twice the star power and it wouldn't make up for how important Bizzy's strange voice was for the overall chemistry. Every song is at least solid and the album flows very well, making it one of the better-built efforts from the house of Bone in nearly a decade. Mariah speaks to the commercial possibilities Bone always had, while the Game speaks to how they seemed to never leave the streets. Numerous melodious hooks in the easy-rolling Bone tradition fog the memory, and guest stars are brought in at just the right moments. As a trio Krayzie, Layzie, and distant third Wish are a solid crew, able to deliver good weekend numbers like "Bump in the Trunk," "Lil Love," and "C-Town" (they never forget Cleveland) along with polished gangsta tracks like "I Tried." In the big picture, Bizzy and Flesh are missed, but what's remarkable about Strength & Loyalty is how it makes the listener forget they're missing while in the moment. This 2007 edition of Bone is missing members Flesh-N-Bone (thanks to incarceration) and Bizzy Bone (thanks to his being Bizzy Bone) and it shows. Big names like Mariah Carey, Akon, the Game, Swizz Beatz, and Twista all command their tracks, unknowingly stealing from a group that used to be instantly identifiable because of their unique sound and style. Strength & Loyalty is also too heavy a title for an album so light and slick. Despite handing in some forgettable efforts, emptying fans' wallets with too many solo and side projects, and promising new product and not delivering repeatedly, Bone always got a pass from faithful. The title to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's 2007 comeback album, Strength & Loyalty, must be a reference to their fans.
